How to use Essential Oils for aromatherapy, health care and skin care

I have been researching online, how I can relax just a little more and

get my mind, body and soul in harmony,

my research lead me to essentials oils for Aromatherapy.

What Is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is the practice of using natural oils,

extract from plants to increase Physical and Psychological wellness,

through stimulation of the brain cells.

What is essential oils?

Essential oils are oils extracted from plants, root, stem or leaves,

the oil is highly concentrated and is  used most in aromatherapy.

Base on my research and my own personal needs, I decided  buy

Frankincense Essential Oil off Amazon, and immediately started using it.

History of Frankincense

Frankincense Is from the plant, Boswellia and has been used for centuries for its healing qualities.

Frankincense comes in two forms, the crystallized form as shown in picture

or liquid form (essential oil). Frankincense quality is determined by,

aroma, purity, age and shape.

I recently started using Frankincense, as before mentioned for it’s therapeutic benefits,

I find it to be very calming and relaxing.

Its also very good to use to clear a clouded mind and put the mind at ease.

How I use Frankincense oil for Aromatherapy

  • Fill my diffuser up with water to the full line
  • Drop 3-5 drops into my Diffuser
  • Plug it into the wall unit
  • Then let it diffuses out for an hour (I usually closed all the doors to trap the aroma)

What is a diffuser?

A diffuser is an attachment that when water and oil mixture is added,

it diffuses and vaporized into the air,

for a soothing aroma (works similar to one of those plug in

air freshener that sprays vapor into the air).

N.B Diffuser comes in all shapes and form and prices too.

Hence, When  purchasing a Diffuser it is based strictly on your personal taste.

Just in case you want to know,

I get mines off  of  Amazon and it works like a charm.☺

Another way how I use my oils, which I find very effective, is to lightly inhale the oil,

just put the container up to my nose and inhale it (great way to instantly clear your head)

Further into my research, I realized that Frankincense is not only good Aromatherapy,

but it is also good for the skin care, and has many other  glorious health benefits.

Personally, I have only use Frankincense for Aromatherapy and skin care.

However, there are so many other benefits that I didn’t mentioned.

also I have a long history with Frankincense and Myrrh and maybe of the  oils

the start with I chose this one.

I want to share with you a little story of my history with Frankincense

As a child I remember my mother would always have crystallized Frankincense

and Myrrh at home stashed away in the cupboard for emergency uses.

If me or one of  my siblings would catch a cold, or cough,  I remember her reaching

for her stash of  Frankincense and Myrrh, which

she would put to boil in a pot for a few minutes. She would then strain off the liquid in a cup,

which she would give us to drink.

It was also placed in the hair of  new born  babies to help with the prevention

of a head cold and is also used as a spiritual protection.

So, I am no stranger to Frankincense, I was only ignorant to all its healing qualities

and benefits.

How can we use Frankincense and Myrrh? See how below,

Frankincense is good to use on the entire body and face, since

I learned that it is good to use on the skin.

I used Frankincense oil in my Lotion and my Face Moisture.

How I use Frankincense for Skin care, I use Coconut oil  as the carrier oil

  •  drop 6 -12 drops of Frankincense in lotion and face moisturizer(drops are

determined by .oz)

  • then shake well the combine products.
  •   Apply lotion to  my body once per day
  • moisturizer my  face once per day( you can apply the mixture day or night
  • depending on your preference.

  2. Thanks for the article. Very useful article on how to use essential oil for the first time. I have used store-bought, roll-on stuffs, but haven’t ventured out to using diffuser. I love the story of the phoenix that collects cinnamon barks, frankincense and myrrh as it nears the end of its life, burns itself and rises out of the ashes.
